New Links - We're On The Move!
Or rather, we're finally out of Egypt, mostly. Our curriculum lingered there for a while, and we lingered for a while longer because Egypt is just plain cool. But now we're moving on and out.
But not far. We're on to the cradle of civilization and early Mesopotamia because that's what Tapestry of Grace calls for. Which is, by the way, a super-wonderful curriculum, in case you wanted to know. And here's a source for a map of Abraham's Journey. Just what I was looking for.
More to come.
Oh, and hey, I just disovered this very cool site where you can catalog all the books in your personal library - and add them to your blog! I did that on my other blog. The one I post on more regularly. And who knows, in another life when I HAVE SOME TIME maybe I'll do it here as well. It's super easy. Check it out. Library Thing.

Creation Videos
I've become quite the fan of YouTube. Regardless of the ads, copyright infringement everywhere, easy access to questionable content - there are some gems.
Here is the first in a very nice series on creation.
And, here is a playing of Chopin's Fantasy Impromptu with beautiful images reflecting the days of creation. Talk about inspiration. Wow.
enjoy.

Tasty Egypt Links
This week's focus was on Egypt. The best links:
Egyptology Online (For older kids/adults, but lots of good information and pictures the young ones will enjoy.)
Guardian's Egypt (A special section geared for kids! Great links, fun activities. I can type my name and see it in hieroglyphs! Too cool.)
Virtual Tour of an Ancient Egyptian Villa (The text is in French, but click the arrows and it leads you through. Video game fans will love it.)
Egyptomania (Cleveland Museum of Art has a kids section and a ton of info on Egypt. Activities, arts and crafts - great stuff.)
Travel Egypt (Egypt's tourism site. Some about ancient times but lots of photos and hey, the sounds of the menus swooshing around is cool.)
Wild Egypt (An online safari - great photos, fun text.)
Paper Toys Great Pyramid (Template to make a pyramid out of paper/sandpaper.)
Odyssey in Egypt (I haven't looked at this much, but it's supposed to be a good list of the flora and fauna of Egypt.)
Coloring Pages (For the little Smarties!)
NEW!
Mummies of Ancient Egypt and Mummy Maker (Thanks to Adventure Academy for the links!)
Here's another Mummy link. Mummify an apple.
Math and Egypt combined.
